Selected Decisions

On this page you will find details of decisions made in recent cases that the Tribunal considers to be important or significant. There are examples under the jurisdictions relating to disputed compensation, valuation for rating, tenants’ rights to buy, discharge of land obligations, Land Register appeals, and title conditions. You may browse or search these examples.

Selecting a jurisdiction will bring up a list of recent cases by name and Lands Tribunal reference number (i.e. LTS). Selecting a case will bring up a short summary of the case and brief details of the decision reached. This document is known as a “rubric”. At the end of the rubric there is a link to the formal “Opinion” or “Note” (both are judgments) of the Tribunal, which comprises the full statement of reasons for the decision.

Search the decisions

Alternatively you may search through the selected decisions for particular words, using the search form below. You might search by the name of an applicant or respondent, for example, or by the name or location of a property, or by some aspect of the case.

Please note that the search facility only searches those decisions selected and presented on this site, not the Tribunal’s entire history of cases.
